In this tutorial, we will show you how to setup OpenVPN on AsusTor NAS. The process may be a little lengthy, but very easy. Scroll down for more details.

Setting Up OpenVPN on AsusTor Nas

Follow the steps below in order to successfully install OpenVPN on AsusTor Nas.

1- Log into your AsusTor device, and then go to “Settings”.

2- Click on “VPN”.

3- Next, click on “Add”, and then choose “OpenVPN”. Click “Next” to continue to the next step.

4- Choose “Import Configuration Files from OpenVPN Provider”, and then click “Next” to continue.

5- You will be then directed to a new window where you are required to insert your VPN credentials and configuration files to continue. Fill in the details in the specified fields as follows:

1- Name: name of your VPN provider (e.g: bVPN).

2- Account: your VPN username.

3- Password: your VPN password.

4- Import file(s): click on “Browse” to import your VPN configuration files. Click here to download them.

5- Click on “Connect” after creating your OpenVPN profile.

Your device should be now connected to your VPN service.

6- Return to your AsusTor main window, and then navigate to open “App Central”.

7- From the “App Central” window, choose “All Apps” from the left-side panel.

8- You will be directed to a new window that contains all available apps. Type “Deluge” in the search bar located at the upper right corner.

9- Once “Deluge” is located, click on the “Install” button in order to install it on your AsusTor system.

10- You will be prompted by a pop-up window, click on “Install”.

11- Wait for a few minutes for the app to be downloaded on your system. Once “Deluge” is installed, you will notice that the “Install” option has changed to “Installed”.

12- Return once more to your AsusTor main window in which you can now notice that “Deluge” app is displayed. Click to open it.

13- You will be prompted by a pop-up window to insert the password for Deluge. The password is “deluge”.

14- After that, you will be prompted again to change the default password. Please change it for security reasons, click on “Yes” to change it.

15- A pop-up window will be displayed, choose the available host, and then connect to it.

16- Change your password, confirm the new password, and then click “Change”.

17- Click on “OK” to continue the set up.

18- Go to http://ipmagnet.services.cbcdn.com, right-click on the highlighted “Magnet link”, and then choose “Copy Link Location”. Wait until you get confirmation that the VPN connection is active, and then close the tab.

19- Return to the “Deluge” tab, and then click on “Add” located at the upper-right corner.

20- Select “URL”.

21- Paste the Magnet link you have copied in the “URL” field, and then click “Add”.

22- Click on “Add” at the bottom of the “Add Torrents” window.

23- You will notice that the magnet link is now shown in the active torrents list.

24- Return to the website you copied the magnet link from in which you can see the IP address of the VPN server you are connected to. If not, click on “Update”.

Congratulations! You have successfully installed OpenVPN on AsusTor NAS.
