How to Allow VPN through Bullguard Firewall

Follow the steps below to create a new rule in order to stop Bullguard Antivirus from blocking your VPN connection on your Windows system:

1- Head over to the Bullguard icon at bottom right of your system tray.

2-  Next, open the Bullguard main window, go to Firewall, and then click on the dropdown button to expand it.

3- Click on “Manage Rules”. This will open a window with a list of your installed programs with rules that are predefined to control their access to the internet.

*In the “Description field, you will find the name of the rules of the firewall.

*In the “Action” field, you will find the actions your firewall can take regarding your programs. For example, if you want to give permission to any program to send and receive information to and from the internet, you can select “Allow”. However, if you want to prevent any application or program from sending or receiving data to and from the internet, you can select the “Block” option.

*In the “Application Path” field, you will find the path of the executable file of the program.

4- Locate your VPN app, and then set the action field to “Allow”.

5- Click “OK” to save your settings.

Creating A New Rule in the Bullguard Firewall

Open the Bullguard main window, and then click on “New Rule” from the “Actions” panel on the right side. The first thing you will notice is that there are four different rules. The “Program” rule gives you the option to create rules for a specific program. The “Port” rule allows you to set rules for specific ports to control internet traffic. The “Predefined” rule allows you to create rules for certain Windows features to control their performance. The “Custom” rule gives you the option to block certain programs, connections through ports, system features, etc.
