What is Windows 10 Keylogger?

Keylogger is a very controversial surveillance feature integrated in Windows 10 to monitor and record each and every keystroke made by you to a log file. Not only that, but it can also keep records of your personal activities, such as: emails, instant messaging and any kind of activity that requires the use of your keyboard. What is even more shocking is that a keylogger can track and keep records of your online activities as well, such as storing the URLs of the websites you visit. Who uses this kind of sensitive information? Usually employers take advantage of keyloggers to monitor their employees activities. What does this mean? It means that this feature is like a spyware that transfers your personal and sensitive data to other parties, mainly “Microsoft”. Microsoft collects such data to understand how its users operate on their systems and the general performance of their Windows operating systems. On their website, they explain the reasons why they store your data and personal information:

Microsoft uses the data we collect to provide you the products we offer, which includes using data to improve and personalize your experiences. We also may use the data to communicate with you, for example, informing you about your account, security updates and product information. And we use data to help show more relevant ads, whether in our own products like MSN and Bing, or in products offered by third parties. However, we do not use what you say in email, chat, video calls or voice mail, or your documents, photos or other personal files to target ads to you.”

For these reasons, if you value your privacy, it is better to terminally disable this feature. In this guide, we will explain to you exactly how you can do that.
