How to Disable Firewall on Windows 7, 8, 10

Before carrying out any of the following steps, please make sure that you have admin access on the computer you are using.

1- From “Start” menu, go to Control Panel. Or you can press on the “Power User” button and go to “Control Panel” from there.

2- Choose “System and Security”. If your Control Panel displays categories instead, then you can skip this step.

3- Click on “Windows Firewall”.

4- You will find a list of options on the left side of the Windows Firewall window, click on “Turn Windows Firewall On or Off”.

5- Select the radio button next to “Turn Off Windows Firewall (Not Recommended)”. Note that you have the option to disable Windows firewall for private or public networks, or both.

6- Click “OK” to apply the changes you have just made.

You have successfully disabled Windows Firewall.

How to Disable Firewall on Windows Vista

Before carrying out any of the following steps, please make sure that you have admin access on the computer you are using.

1- Click to open “Control Panel” from your desktop, or click on “Start” menu, and then click on “Control Panel”.

2- Select “Security” if your Control Panel is set to “Category”. If your Control Panel is set to “Classic View”, then skip this step.

3- Click on “Windows Firewall”.

4- A new window will open. From the left panel, click on “Turn Windows Firewall On or Off”.

5- Stand on the General tab from the Windows Firewall settings window, and then click on the radio button next to “Off (not recommended)”.

6- Click on “OK” to apply the changes you have just made.

You have successfully disabled Windows firewall on Windows Vista.

How to Disable Firewall on Windows XP

Before carrying out any of the following steps, please make sure that you have admin access on the computer you are using.

1- From “Start” menu, click on “Control Panel”.

2- Click on “Network and Internet Connections”. If your Control Panel is set to Classic View, then click on “Network Connections” and skip the next step.

3- From “Pick a Control Panel Icon”, click on “Network Connections”.

4- Click on “Properties” in the “Network Connections” window.

5- From “Properties”, click on “Advanced” tab.

6- You will find more than one tab within the Advanced tab window. Click on “Windows Firewall” section, and then click on Settings.

7- Select the radio button next to “Off (not recommended)”.

8- Click “OK” to apply the changes that you have just made.

You have successfully disabled Windows XP firewall.
