securitykiss vpn

SecurityKISS is a VPN service provider that is based in Ireland. It not only offers VPN services for individuals, but it also offers services for businesses and corporations.  In this review, we will discuss the different features, price plans, security protocols offered by this Irish VPN.

SecurityKISS Free Plan

SecurityKISS is one of the few VPN service providers that offer a free VPN service to internet users. However, the free plan provided has many restrictions. Unlike the paid subscriptions, the free VPN has only a 300MB data limit per month which is significantly small and will not be useful if you are planning on streaming videos. In addition, server locations are limited to 4 countries only (UK, US, FRANCE & GERMANY). As for speeds, they are much slower than those provided with premium plans. More restrictions are applied on e-mail services, VoIP apps, games and of course media streaming.

Price Plans

Aside from the free plan, SecurityKISS offers 4 shades of green as paid subscriptions, these are: Green, Olivine, Malachite, Jadeite and Emerald. The Emerald plan, which is also the most expensive, includes access to all features and servers provided by the service and has no restrictions whatsoever. On the other hand,  the other three plans have limited bandwidth ranging between 20GB and 50GB a month, something which we find very unattractive and  not a good value for money.

Payment Methods

On a brighter note, SecurityKISS offers an impressive wide range of payment options, including anonymous and regular payments. Payment methods include: Bitcoin, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and wire transfer as well.

Refund Policy

SecurityKISS does not have a money-back guarantee policy. However, they do give back a prorated refund of the remaining balance.

Privacy

” SecurityKISS is committed to protecting your privacy online. Our privacy policy is simple: keep the minimum information about users.”

This is the first statement written when you go through their privacy policy section. Though your browsing history and online activities are not monitored and are kept anonymous, SecurityKISS does keep some records of your personal data and some logging information, such as: IP address, VPN session duration, timestamps, bandwidth, email address, username, password and billing information.

Moreover, being based in Ireland makes SecurityKISS fall under the UK the Irish data retention law in 1998 (amended in 2003).

SecurityKISS Features

In this section, we will go through the several different features provided by SecurityKISS VPN, such as: security protocols, number of servers, speed, bandwidth, etc. Scroll down for more details.

Security

When it comes to security levels, SecurityKISS is dedicated to provide a secure and anonymous environment to its netizens, They proudly boast their levels of security by posting several testimonials from giant software experts, such as: Softpedia.

‘SecurityKISS Tunnel has been tested in the Softpedia labs using several industry-leading security solutions and found to be completely clean of adware/spyware components. We are impressed with the quality of your product and encourage you to keep these high standards in the future.’

The Irish VPN provider uses a puny 128-bit Blowfish encryption with 1024-bit RSA certificates to support protocols, such as: OpenVPN, PPTP and L2TP/IPsec. It is not the toughest encryption out there, but it enough to secure your connection and hide you from online predators.

Servers

SecurityKISS has a small server network. There about 63 servers in 16 different countries, such as: UK, US, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Hong King, Singapore, and more.

Unlike bandwidth caps, users can unrestrictedly switch between all servers available in their bundle.

Compatibility

SecurityKISS is compatible with several major platforms, such as: Windows, Mac OS, iOS, Android, Linux. etc. This means that it can be used on several devices, such as: desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets.

Secret Tunneling

One of the features provided by SecurityKISS is “exclusive secret tunneling“, which basically acts as a kill switch to keep your traffic data encrypted at all times, even during abrupt disconnections.

Customer Support

Customers can reach SecurityKISS customer support via live chat or e-mail tickets. There is also a blog and an F.A.Q sections for sel-assistance.

Conclusion

SecurityKISS is a generally good VPN provider that serves its purpose quite well. We like the fact that they offer a free VPN service, various price plans. We also like their payment system as we always encourage users to use Bitcoin for extra anonymity. Moreover, the VPN comes with a kill switch which is great to stay secure and anonymous on the web at all times. SecurityKISS is also compatible with multiple platforms and offers several configuration methods. On the other hand, we do not like the fact that they’re based in Ireland because they have to comply with Ireland’s data retention laws. Moreover, we did not like the fact that most subscriptions including the free plan do not have unlimited bandwidth. We also find their network of servers very small.
